Urgent KASA Covid-19 Update

Dear KASA families,

Tonight, the East Central Soccer District held a meeting to discuss the recent Public Health Emergency due to COVID-19 in our area.  Below is the direction that KASA and other area clubs have been given.

Effective immediately, all games in the East Central Soccer District leagues are postponed for 2 weeks with an anticipated restart of October 17. Tentatively, the season will be extended. This is being done in response to the joint public health emergency declaration by the counties of Calumet, Outagamie and Winnebago, and the cities of Menasha and Appleton on the afternoon of Friday, October 2, 2020. (https://www.outagamie.org/home/showdocument?id=77444)

This means if you are part of an academy or classic team with a game in the counties of Calumet, Outagamie, or Winnebago, including the cities of Neenah, Menasha, and Appleton, your games are postponed by two weeks.

If your child plays on a State level team or above and is scheduled to play outside the areas listed above, the club is allowing your participation based on the rules of the communities in which your game will be played.

For all teams, practices are returned to Phase 1 protocols (maximum groups of 10 people).  Coaches have been trained in the details of phase 1 protocols.  Please note, and as a reminder, in phase 1, we are social distancing during training with no team activities thus minimizing any contact within 6 feet.

I apologize for this short notice and the above actions I have laid out.

Please be safe, take extra precaution.  Be honest with yourself and family members about how you feel and be steadfast in following the protocols of our government agencies, schools, and clubs you participate in.

We continue to be, all in this together.

Yours in Soccer,

Matt Walters

KASA President
